The Howell Family is a southern gospel singing group based in Thayer, Missouri. Thayer is a small town in southwest Missouri about 2 miles from the Arkansas state line. Our family grew up attending a local country church where our Dad and Mom pastored for several years. The group consists of three part harmony and a live band. Members include Daniel Howell, brother, whose rich, distinct voice is featured on many songs as lead, as well as tenor and alto. Daniel also plays the bass and acoustic guitars. He began singing harmony at the age of 9. David Howell, brother, is the drummer, and has played drums since he was 5. He is one of the most outstanding drummers in southern gospel music. David is also featured on selected vocals. Miriam (Howell) LeGrand, sister, plays piano and sings as well as writing some original music for the group. Miriam's husband, Fred LeGrand, plays bass guitar and has played steel guitar and harmonica for the group. He also assists with project recordings. The Howell Family has a rich Christian heritage passed on by our Dad and Mother. We were all raised in church, and came to know Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior at very young ages. We are looking forward to the opportunity to sing in your area. We feel God has blessed our group greatly, as we are looking forward to our third decade of singing gospel music, should He tarry! (Yes, we were quite young when we began). We feel that through the years our message in song has been: A Crucified Lord, A Risen Savior, and A Soon-Coming King! Yours in Christ, The Howell Family |
