Daniel Howell, the oldest brother of The Howell Family, is an original founding member. Daniel had not graduated from high school when he and Miriam felt the call to sing gospel music.
Daniel began singing harmony at age 9, and was a successful bass player by age 15. He completed the School of Christian Music in Kentucky when he was only 15. Daniel has a rich lead and tenor voice and has played numerous instruments in the band: bass, acoustic, mandolin. In addition to his vocal and musical talent, Daniel is the general manager of the group, and is very committed to care and maintenance of the bus (he would drive more often if he could stay awake!). Daniel accepted Jesus Christ into his life at the very young age of 8. Standing in a brush arbor service one night, he looked at Miriam and said, "I need to go." Daniel has served the Lord since this young age, and has been a light to many people. He has ministered in music and song at numerous weddings and funerals. This is his twenty-fourth year to travel. Daniel and his wife Tammy, and children, Katelyn and Matthew, reside near Thayer and attend church at Thayer Freewill Baptist. His hobbies are golf, singing and being with his family. |

Miriam (Howell) LeGrand, sister, is one of the original founding members. She is known as the "grand matriarch" of the Howell Family, better known as the "Queen Bee." She and Daniel began feeling the call to form the group, which was started in 1982.
Miriam has traveled with the group the entire time, singing alto and some second soprano, as well as occasionally leading. Miriam is the group's pianist, and has been playing since the age of 10. Hundreds have enjoyed her unique southern gospel piano style. She also has written several songs, some of which are up and coming on new projects. Miriam was saved in a little country church at the age of 10, and has served the Lord throughout the years. She and Fred were married in 1986; they live in Mountain Home, Arkansas with their two, four-legged children, Chief and Bubba (Doberman and Black/Tan Hound)! She and Fred attend church at a local Assembly of God. Her hobbies are loving her dogs, and playing piano. |

David Howell is the youngest original member of The Howell Family. He has been playing drums since age 6 and has developed an incredible love for the drums.
He lives in West Plains with his wife, Rhonda, and their two children, Chloe and Dawson. David also sings some, however, he will quickly tell you that drumming is his first love. He also plays other instruments including the bass, acoustic guitar and some banjo. Some of his responsibilities include music and song arrangement, as well as co-designer of the group's web site. David was saved at age 10 and has a sincere passion for the Lord. He and Rhonda attend church at an Assembly of God close to their hometown. His hobbies include acting in Christian dramas, golfing, reading and spending time with his wife and children. |

Fred LeGrand, husband of Miriam (Howell) LeGrand has been traveling with the family since prior to their marriage (1985).
Fred's first assignment was sound technician, and then after he and Miriam got married in 1986, Fred soon began learning to play the steel guitar and became a member of the band in 1987. In 1995, we purchased our first bus, and well, guess who got the job of driving (since no one else could stay awake?) Fred!!! He is quite the dependable driver, and was at the wheel of the bus when the Howell Family went to Canada to sing in 1997. Most recently Fred has been playing bass guitar, allowing Daniel to be free to sing. He is also producing our next album and was producer of our live album in 1998. Fred was saved at age 19, and loves the Lord with all his heart. He has served several years in church leadership in the past. He and Miriam attend church at a local Assembly of God near their home in Mountain Home, Arkansas. His hobbies are golf and motorcycle riding. |
